Peggy Gou: The debut album “I Hear You”

Just announced, Peggy Gou’s much-anticipated debut album, ‘I Hear You’, is set to release on June 7 under XL Recordings.

Featuring 10 tracks, including the collaboration with Lenny Kravitz titled ‘I Believe in Love Again’ and her latest single ‘1+1= 11’, the album comes with a music video directed by her longtime friend, the Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson.

‘1+1= 11’ is emblematic of the album’s overarching theme of “togetherness”.

The music video premiered in Berlin at a lively event hosted by Gou, complete with DJ sets from Spray, fka.m4a, and Matrefakt.

Eliasson has contributed not only to the music but also to the album’s cover artwork Reflecting on the project, Eliasson shares his belief in the transformative power of dance, which has shaped both his life and artistic vision.

Collaborating on the album was Puerto Rican rap artist Villano Antillano, adding his vocal talents to the mix. 

Gou herself sees ‘I Hear You’ as more than just a debut album; it’s a testament to her dedication and belief in the power of listening, both to oneself and to others.
