Defected 25: Limited edition boxset and book to mark label’s anniversary
Defected is releasing its first-ever hardback coffee table book: 25 Years In The House.
Spanning twenty-five chapters, it covers the label’s origins, financial challenges, the impact of house music and stories behind its iconic releases.
Simon Dawson, Defected’s General Manager, reflects on the project: “Initially, we felt overwhelmed by the scale—hundreds of releases, countless global events. But as the interviews came together, we realized this was turning into something special.”
In addition to the book, Defected is releasing a vinyl box set, part of the ‘Together’ series, featuring 25 new tracks and remixes across 13 double-sided 12” records.
Highlights include remixes by Idris Elba, Hot Since 82, and collaborations with artists like Hannah Wants and Sam Divine.
Defected CEO Wez Saunders explains the concept behind Together: “It’s about celebrating unity, creativity, and fostering collaboration across the industry. We aim to champion diversity and inclusivity in house music.”
Defected: 25 Years In The House will be available next month for £50, while the Together Boxset is priced at £150.
