Sankeys Reboot: Update sparks rumoured return for Manchester venue
Sankeys has hinted at a return to Manchester through a cryptic Instagram post. On 3 June, the brand shared an image captioned: “Hello Manchester… it’s been a while,” suggesting plans for a comeback in the city.
Alongside the post, Sankeys updated its Instagram bio to read: “A Return To Manchester?” and changed its contact email to info@sankeysthereturn.com. No official announcement has been made at this time.
The brand was originally launched in 1994 by Andy Spiro and Rupert Campbell. It operated for over two decades inside the Beehive Mill in Ancoats before closing in 2017, after the building was sold to developers.
Although Sankeys has remained active as a promoter, with recent events at venues such as Studio338 in London, its future plans for Manchester have not yet been confirmed.
A return to Beehive Mill is unlikely, as the site has since been converted into co-working offices under the name Beehive Lofts.
