Winning guest mixes will air during the DJ.Studio Takeover week from 14–18 May 2025.

All slots are 2 hours long.
Mixes must be suitable for broadcast and free from explicit language.
Entrants will be required to submit:
- Basic information: name, email, phone and country
- The mix: MP3 format @ 320kbps (300mb max)
As a reminder, each winner will receive:
- A guest mix slot on Electric during the DJ.Studio Takeover week
- Inclusion in promotional on-air announcements and mentions
- Bespoke artwork, including headshot and social media assets
- A profile page on Electric’s website and app featuring your bio, headshot, links, and an embedded replay of the winning mix
- A one-year CORE residency with the ability to upload four additional mixes over a 12-month period

Terms of Entry
The DJ.Studio Takeover Week competition is run by We Are MTR (UK) Limited (Company No. 11690690), with registered offices in the United Kingdom.
By submitting an entry, participants agree to the following:
- The competition opens on Monday 7th April 2025 @ 00:00 BST and closes on Sunday 4th May 2025 @ 23:59 BST.
- Only one entry is permitted per person.
- All mixes must be recorded using DJ.Studio’s platform and submitted via the official entry form.
- Entrants must be aged 18 or over at the time of submission.
- Submission of a mix does not guarantee selection.
- Mixes must meet broadcast standards and adhere to genre and duration requirements as specified.
- Winners will be notified via email and must provide required promotional assets within seven days of notification.
- Winners will be granted a temporary residency, allowing for up to four additional mix uploads over the following 12 months.
- Data collected through the entry process will be managed by We Are MTR (UK) Limited and may be shared with DJ.Studio and our parent companies: Firebox Creative Limited and Creative Fix Limited, for the purpose of competition administration and future promotional activity.
- All entrants will be notified by email once selections have been made – whether successful or not.
- We reserve the right to remove any submission that is offensive, inappropriate, or not in line with the spirit of the competition.
- All decisions made by the judging panel are final.
- This promotion is not open to staff or direct relations of DJ.Studio, Electric, MTR, Firebox or Creative Fix.
- If the user does not have a paid DJ.Studio license, they will need to contact DJ.Studio support to have the export restriction lifted on their account. This is detailed in the takeover guidance on the homescreen of the DJ.Studio app.
- Successful winners will need to sign a performer release form, confirming legal sourcing of the tracks in their mix, and that they’re happy for MTR / Electric to use the recording for the takeover week.
FAQs
Do I need to a paid DJ.Studio account to enter?
No, you can create your mix using the free DJ.Studio trial but you need to ask for an extension. Contact the support team at support@dj.studio and mention that you are participating in the Electric contest to enable the export feature.
Where do I submit the mix?
Follow the links above to the DJ.Studio app. From Monday 7th April, you'll find a banner on the home screen which will take you to the submission form.
Can my mix contain multiple styles?
Yes, when submitting your mix you'll choose a primary genre, but most of our slots contain 2 or more. Please ensure the majority of your track selection matches the genre guidance.
What's the difference between a guest mix and the CORE residency?
The guest mix is a one-off broadcast slot, during the DJ.Studio Takeover Week. The CORE residency will follow this, allowing 4 futher uploads over the next 12 motnhs. These mixes will primarily be accessed via your profile on the Electric app and website.
