Beatport Insider: The top artists, tracks, and labels of 2023 💡

As is the annual tradition, Beatport have unveiled their yearly ‘Insider’ round up detailing the key stats from the Beatport store across 2023.

The Beatport Insider utilises key stats from the Beatport store each month to highlight the top artists, tracks, and labels as determined by Beatport’s sales and streaming charts throughout the year.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the top-selling tracks is led by Peggy Gou with ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’, which became a global phenomenal amongst both listeners – with dancefloors lit up worldwide by the feel-good hit – and producers, who eagerly delved into the various samples embedded within the record. Joining ‘Nanana’ in the top 10 are picks from the likes of Four Tet, Skrillex, and Fred again.., Meduza, Dom Dolla and Nelly Furtado, and Aussie favourite Fisher

The latter claimed the Most Streamed Track of 2023 with ‘Take It Off’ alongside Aatig, narrowly edging Mau P’s ‘Gimme That Bounce’ as the Dutch tech house sensation Maurits Westveen continues his meteoric rise since switching genres from his previous alias: Maurice West.

Whilst the likes of Fisher, Peggy Gou, and Mau P led the way for individual tracks, it was the double-album-dropping industry heavyweight Skrillex, with his Quest For Fire and Don’t Get Too Close albums, leading the way as the Most Streamed Artist on Beatport in 2023. The American beat Anyma, Ghostbusterz, and collaborator Fred again.. to the top spot in what was a landmark year for the 35-year-old, as he also picked up the accolade of Best-Selling Artist on Beatport.

In a perhaps surprise twist, the gargantuan force of Afterlife Records was kept off the top spot of the Best-Selling Labels of 2023 by UK label Toolroom, fronted by Mark Knight and celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. That couldn’t be replicated in the Most-Streamed category, however, with Insomniac Records heading up the list, once again pushing Tale Of Us’ Afterlife into second place.

With the year coming to a close, it’s the perfect time to look back on another trailblazing year of music. Dive deeper into the Beatport Insider 2023 HERE.
